Whitney Houston - I Look To You

This is a great come back album. The break out HIT is obviously "I Didn't know my own Strength" which is why it was not the first single. Was not impressed by "Worth It" is OK. Kind of like "I Got It" very catchy!!!!

On the whole I've very impressed. The Album has flow which not many have today. Like a story book. And yes, it does tell what we perceive to be her history. Overall I think its going to be a hit. Especially the single "I Didn't Know My Own Strength". "Million Dollar Bill" is awesome. "Nothin But Love" is also very solid.

When you listen to this record the first time you think its good but after the second or third time you begin to think its brilliant.

One last thing "Salute" could also be a huge hit internationally. Love it, I can imagine the last song of the night in places like St Tropez etc being "Salute".

Originally scheduled as a video interview, we had legendary local DJ Bo Bliz (Crossafaded Bacon) and PhrequencyTV intern Christain Audesirk ask DJ AM some questions about his newest venture in Atlantic City.

Bo Bliz: Describe the transition from DJ to DJ/club/owner/name brand...

AM: I have no idea how that happened, but it did, and I am not trying to take credit, or to stop it, but I know that if you put out good things, good things come back to you. I make the music, and have a voice but I also have a team of great people around me.

Christain Audesirk: How did your relationship between Dusk and Caesars come about?

AM: I've worked at Caesars in Vegas for 3 years so it seemed a natural fit to move to the one in AC as well.

CA: How do you feel about the AC nightlife scene?

AM: It's just beginning to really take place. The recession is already slowing a lot down everywhere and adding to the speed of AC becoming to Philly and NY what Vegas is to LA. But it is going to happen. It’s just a matter of time. I am incredibly excited to be involved in the evolution with Dusk at Caesars. From the design to the music, Dusk is in a league of its own and once you spend an hour there you will know why.

CA: What was your experience like working with Travis Barker on "Fix Your Face?"

AM: So much fun. I love Travis and I have always loved beats. To see what an amazing drummer brings to the beats I love is so exciting.

CA: Talk to me a little bit about Deckstar, how’s that project coming along?

AM: Deckstar is a brand, but it’s also a DJ Management company that I am part of. In addition to representing me, Deckstar represents some of the biggest and most legendary DJ’s in the world. Deckstar as a management company provides a service to all the DJs represented there, giving guidance and structure to its clients to help them maintain longevity in a business that is very fickle. They handle all the bookings, touring and travel logistics, branding, marketing opportunities as well as press and promotion. They don’t just take anyone, you have to be great, owning your own style, knowing what your goals are and where you want to take your music to when it comes to the next level.

Bo Bliz: What has your connection to Philadelphia been since you moved from here?

AM: I have always stayed in touch with my Sister who still lives there and I get back there at lease every 2 months just to take a walk and remember my childhood. I love that city. Damn, bout to start crying! I am a mush ball when it comes to Philly!

CA: Being a born Philadelphia kid, what you do miss most about Philly and its style?

AM: The food, the people, and the over all energy that you can actually smell and see on the streets. Philly has more flavor and character then anywhere in the world I have ever been, other then Prague

BB: What was your reaction to the support you received at DJ Day here in Philadelphia?

AM: I was totally speechless. When Jazzy Jeff showed me the pics I was floored. I had NO idea half of these legends knew who I was, let alone how I DJed and supported me. It was like winning an Oscar.

BB: What is the vibe of your weekly in LA, Banana Split?

AM: HOUSE PARTY!

BB: When was your progression from records to serato etc., and how did that transition effect your dj'ing?

AM: It made me speed up a lot in terms of the tempo I play at. And it made me be braver with song selection. I don’t have to "find" that rare RECORD anymore, just the mp3, then I can play it!

Californian Christina's discomfort at the meeting was evident in her rush to surround herself with friends - and a swift escape to the gallery's basement floor. But when Christina was photographed alongside gallery owner Tamara Beckwith, she was furious to discover Heather had been standing on the other side of the former It-girl and stormed out of the gallery into nearby Gilmour's restaurant.

'It's such an immature reaction,' says Heather, Kerzner's wife for the past nine years. 'She's just got to get over it. It's only one photograph and a lot of water has passed under the bridge.'

Superstar diva Mariah Carey arrived in Cape Town on Thursday to lead the festivities at the glamorous opening of Sol Kerzner's new hotel. One&Only, next to the Two Oceans Aquarium in the V&A Waterfront, opens on Thursday night after an investment rumoured to have totalled R1-billion. The internationally famous hotelier - best known locally for building the vast Sun City out of the dry bushveld in the Pilanesberg mountains in the North-West province - is expected to put on one of his famously lavish shows to open his Cape Town masterpiece. A Hollywood-style red carpet is expected to be rolled out to welcome stars Robert de Niro, Sharon Stone, rapper Mos Def and Bebe Winans. Former model Yasmin le Bon will be there, with daughter Saffron. Matt Damon, who is in Cape Town working on a film about the 1995 Rugby World Cup-winning Springboks, will join them, and had supper with de Niro and Kerzner on Wednesday night. Damon will play Springbok captain Francois Pienaar in the Clint Eastwood-directed flick. Local stars attending tonight are said to include Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sibongile Khumalo and Jonathan Butler. The 131-room hotel is marketed as a super-luxury "six-star" establishment, and guests will be fed from two restaurants bearing celebrity chefs' names. Gordon Ramsay of London will open one of his "maze" restaurants, and alongside him will be "Nobu", after Nobu Matsuhisa, the Japanese-born chef who is widely credited with bringing sushi to the Western world. Cape Town - The Dalai Lama should not be allowed to raise global issues on South African soil that would impact on the country's standing, Finance Minister Trevor Manuel said on Thursday.

Speaking during a debate at the University of Cape Town, he said not allowing the Dalai Lama into South Africa was "a matter of relations between states".

"To say anything against the Dalai Lama is, in some quarters, equivalent to trying to shoot Bambi," he said.

"Let's put our cards on the table. Who is the Dalai Lama? I've heard him described as a god. I've heard him described as Buddha.

"Is he just the spiritual leader of the Buddhists in Tibet, or is he the one who on March 28, 1969, established a government-in-exile in the same way as Taiwan was established to counter the reality of a single China?"

Manuel said Tibet's history had to be looked at, because the Lamas had been "feudal overlords" in that country.

"The reason why the Dalai Lama wants to be here... is to make a big global political statement about the secession of Tibet from China and he wants to make it on the free soil of South Africa.

"I'm sure he's welcome to come at any other time, but we shouldn't allow him to raise global issues that will impact on the standing of South Africa.

"Quite frankly this has nothing to do with the PSL [Premier Soccer League], it is a matter of relations between states and that's what we have to stand up for."

Dear Trevor,

Firstly I want to put on record that I really admire you and in fact I think you are probably the most credible Minister in government today.

A few months ago, I with the rest of South Africa heaved a very, deep sigh of relief when you continued to serve in government after Mbeki. Yes I know your intent to resign was only a matter of due course and respect for the new President but my relief was no less sincere when it was announced you would continue to serve. This is endorsed by the high esteem in which you are held internationally as well as within the South African Business Community.

Imagine my shock when I read the article above on News24.com. It’s on most of the other news sites so I expect it will be a big story in the morning. I have to say you were the last person I expected or thought would agree to deliver the party line to voters. Now that I think about it however in my mind the most credible Ministers in the current cabinet are Finance, Education and Health. So I'm assuming it was a coin toss between you and the Minister of Education as obviously the Minister of Health was not quite in the running.

We obviously know that your remarks at UCT were not off the cuff. Much like the Minister of Health? They were pre scripted and designed to deliver a message. We can only assume that since you did not indicate that these were your personal views that they are the views of Government and the ANC. Yes? No?

The questions you posed were very interesting, and yes I have to say questions I myself have asked. Before I support somebody I really like to know pretty much everything about the candidate. The good, bad and ugly. Very often I go with a view that is not popular but I make sure I research every aspect. You on the other hand pose many questions as to who the Dalai Lama is and his legitimacy yet you offer no viewpoint or conclusion. This is an old ploy to maximise media attention but yet to offer no opinion which could be held against you in the future.

Surly a person as educated as yourself has a very clear view of who the Dalai Lama is and his hereditary/political/religious right?

I do however understand your viewpoint that the 2010 World Cup should not be a platform for political views. However I think it was very naive for government to think that if they sold South Africa as the sparkling light of democracy, African prosperity and success as well as a truly forward thinking economy in order to win the World Cup that minority groups would not try to use the event to voice their opinion.

It’s an acceptable norm for interest groups to be able to voice their opinion in an arena that would afford them maximum media exposure. That's why every protest group on the planet descends on the G8, Davos, Presidential Inaugurations and the odd Royal wedding or two. It’s called Freedom of Speech!

If for example the Pope had been invited, do you not think he would have not taken the opportunity to tell us Africans not to use condoms? Do you think if the Chief Rabbi of Israel was invited he would not comment on Israel’s right to a Jewish homeland? And if in the event Muammar Al- Gaddafi was able to slip in do you not think he would not sprout forth regarding a United States of Africa?

Everybody has an opinion and I think as South Africans we are one of the most authorised populations in the world to be able listen to all sides and then surrender an opinion. What you need to understand is an event such as we are hosting will inevitably become a platform for those seeking a voice. My only regret is that this is something which is obviously not available in the world's most highly regarded democracy. Or so we thought....

What would have made me proud is if the South African government had granted the Dalai Lama his visa and then confronted him with the same questions you posed in your UCT speech. Surely this would have played out 10000% better media wise? IS THAT NOT WHAT TRUE DEMOCRACY IS ALL ABOUT? Everybody gets to be heard?

I have to admire your guts though. Putting up your credibility on the line after Tutu, De Klerk, Mandela, The Nobel Peace Prize Committee, Barbara Hogan, Biko's widow, and a long list of international and local scholars, politicians, social commentators as well as human rights activists have condemned the South African Governments actions. You obviously believe you are right? Yes?

You are the Minister of Finance. What business do you have commenting on an issue such as this? Unless you were asked to? I'm sure you are saying “but what business does Barbara Hogan have commenting.” The difference is you pose questions without answers or a definitive viewpoint. Barbara Hogan has nailed her colours to the mast.

Stick to what you are good at and please try restraining yourself from being used as the most popular political puppet!!!!

The media war has been lost internationally. Charlize Theron was spotted walking though Sandton City today with nothing to do. Queen Rania of Jordan is also supposed to be in town for the conference, lets hope she has had the good sense to flee!!!

This has to be a huge embarrassment to The South African Government? I truly hope you have not been advised by Government communications and PR people because they have miss read the political temperature of most South Africans as well as the international community.

The Issue of Barbara Hogan

So to say I was surprised by Barbara Hogan's statements regarding the Dalai Lama is an understatement. Why somebody who's appointment as a minister came as a pleasant surprise would undermine her appointment is a mystery to me. She is not a stupid woman so my interest level rose.

To be honest her statements were honest, true and made with an element of embarrassment for her employer. It’s like she just had to speak out no matter what the repercussions. The Prez is obviously pissed as her statements were not authorised, but like issues of conscience you just get to a point when your true heart and mind tells you what is going on is WRONG!

I got the feeling from watching her on TV that either one of the deals of her acceptance of the ministerial post was that she reserves the right to criticise issues she does not agree with or more likely the Dalai Lama issue was a huge eye opener and she realised she had signed up for something that was just not up to the playing field.

Let’s not forget that though the ANC thought this event was going to pass without much incident it has blown up into an international news issue. DO YOU KNOW SOUTH AFRICA IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD OTHER THAN CHINA TO REFUSE THE DALAI LAMA A VISA EVER?

The decision effects the two most important issues related to government, domestic and foreign policy. From a domestic viewpoint the ANC government has shocked voters and supporters by trying to suppress the views of a suppressed minority. Maybe this is vastly different from a suppressed majority but in my book everybody deserves to be heard.

Lets not forget that her statement only came after Desmond Tutu, FW De Klerk, Mandla Mandela (this was an interesting development, with the chosen one making a very public political statement, doesn't happen often and I couldn’t help but wonder if Nelson was sending a message he could not voice) all criticised the government. The Nobel Peace Prize Committee stood firm with their recipients. And the 2010 Peace conference has now been cancelled.

But more importantly the world now thinks that South Africa is so bedazzled by the investments made by China in our country that we would bar somebody akin to the Pope from entering our democratic country. Who cares what he is here for; I mean the Pope just told the world not to use condoms!!! How much more shit could the Dalai Lama cause? Well evidently quite a bit as he has been banned until after the 2010 World Cup for fear that he will draw attention away from this majestic soccer event.

OK, I'm the first to admit that I'm not gifted but how does a government elected on democratic values, beliefs and convictions justify suppressing the voice of the suppressed minority because it could detract from a sports event. I see Biko, Tambo, and Sisulu rolling over in their graves.

I suspect Barbara Hogan was so shocked by the governments visa issue with the Dalai Lama that she lost the little hope she had that this administration would do the right thing regardless of the financial implications for the country. She has in her short time in office done more for South Africa locally and internationally than her predecessor. Admittedly it’s going to get her fired but I think it was worth it.

Don’t get me wrong, The Prez or should I say ANC Executive have decided she has to go but in light of all the international coverage it would be tantamount to suicide to axe her now. I suspect there will be quite a few more awkward cabinet meetings until the dust settles and she can be despatched with some lame excuse.

I know I’m rambling but I really think we need to support, highlight and encourage people like Barbara Hogan. She has the guts to say when she thinks something is wrong not matter what the implications. And even though I’m sure she did not expect this point to come so early in her career as a minister I salute her for talking her mind.

For some strange reason though through this whole drama I have been thinking how Helen Suzman would have reacted. I think she would have been doing flick flacks through parliament utterly shocked at what she fought for her whole life has been stained by such a pointless yet mammoth event in South African history.

So recently I joined the Twitter revolution. In case you don't know it is probably best not to get involved. Like Facebook it is highly, highly addictive, and like Facebook you start out not having a clue what is going on but within a few days you are asking yourself how you ever lived without it. I can't stress how dangerous Twitter is!!! Mark my words there will be Twitter support groups popping up all over soon with meetings obviously dictated by who has the venue with the strongest 3G or WiFi connection.

Just today Stephen Fry has kept me updated on pretty much every aspect of his latest overseas trip. He really does nothing much else but Tweet (my lingo might be off) all day long. Ryan Seacrest let me know that Benji Madden wants him to get a tattoo to which Perez Hilton suggested a tattoo of Simon Cowell. John Mayer talks a lot but often I can't quite seem to understand what he is saying. I think he might drink and Tweet but don't quote me. (Dweeting) see below. Ashton and Demi are really cool, Ashton hinted at Bruce's wedding by posting a photo of Demi ironing his suite while bending over in a white bikini. Only put two and two together when he told us how he planned to speak Spanish to the customs officials on return at Miami Airport. Britney Spears is cool and lets us know she is having a ball on the tour.

But seriously besides the celebs it is a great way to keep tabs on friends and family basically in real time. Unlike facebook the people you follow are real and not imposter's. So far I have not come across any Twactor's (someone who pretends to be a real life identity on Twitter). Its truly an amazing tool. Just so you don't worry Lance Armstrong also just let me know he is fine and having a glass of wine at a friends house before going back to the US.

But let me get to the original purpose of this story. So I have been very concerned about the fact that the South African Government have not issued H.H. The Dalai Lama with a visa to attend the 2010 World Cup Peace Conference. So after a few glasses of cheap wine I sent Helen Zilla a Dweet (Tweet sent while drunk) to see what her and the DA's take on the situation is. Imagine my surprise when early the next morning she sent me a Tweet with a link to the DA's official take on the situation. I almost fell out of bed. A BIG UP to Helen Zilla and the DA. Awesome communication with voters.

I got to tell you I was very impressed, so much so that I'm now torn between voting for the DA or COPE. Lets not forget that Mosiuoa Lekota did take the time to send me a birthday message on Facebook.

22 MARCH 2009: SOUTH AFRICAN FRIENDS OF TIBET: CALL FOR AN INDEFINITE POSTPONEMENT OF THE JOHNANNESBURG PEACE CONFERENCE, AND CANCELLATION OF THE SCHEDULED MANDELA CUP SOCCER MATCH BETWEEN SOUTH AFRICA AND NORWAY.

In light of the disgraceful conduct of the South African government in refusing entry, under pressure from the government of the People’s Republic of China, to H.H. Dalai Lama to attend the Johannesburg Peace Conference, the South African Friends of Tibet:

1. Calls on the Peace Conference organizers to postpone indefinitely the Johannesburg Peace Conference until H.H. Dalai Lama is able to attend. In this regard, the call is addressed particularly to the Organising Committee of the 2010 World Cup.

2. Calls on the Nobel Committee not to endorse or attend the Peace Conference.

3. Calls on the South African Nobel Peace Prize laureates to support the postponement of the conference,and not to attend if the conference takes place without H.H. Dalai Lama.

4. Calls on Mr Morgan Freeman and Ms Charlize Theron to support the postponement of the conference and not to attend if the conference takes place without H.H. Dalai Lama.

5. Calls on all conference invitees to boycott the conference in sympathy with H.H. Dalai Lama.

6. Calls on the South African and Norwegian soccer teams to cancel the Mandela Cup match scheduled for Saturday 28th March, in sympathy with H.H. Dalai Lama.

7. As is clear to all, the debarring of H.H. Dalai Lama from the Johannesburg Peace Conference makes a sham of its intentions.

PRESS RELEASE

21 MARCH 2009; SOUTH AFRICAN FRIENDS OF TIBET: STATEMENT ON THE WITHHOLDING OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS TO H.H. DALAI LAMA BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN HIGH COMMISSIONER IN NEW DELHI.

1. The South African Friends of Tibet (SAFT) expresses its dismay at the withholding of travel documents to H.H. Dalai Lama by the South African High Commissioner in New Delhi, effectively debarring H.H. Dalai Lama from participating in the Peace Conference to be held in Johannesburg on March 27th 2009.

2. His Holiness was to have attended Africa’s premier Peace Conference on special invitation from his three fellow South African Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, ex-President Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, and ex-President F.W. de Klerk.

3. In the meantime the South African High Commissioner in New Delhi has contacted the Office of H.H. Dalai Lama, requesting that His Holiness ‘postpone’ his visit to South Africa. This request is viewed by us as being tantamount to a refusal by the South African government to allow His Holiness to attend the Peace Conference.

4. We believe that the barring of His Holiness from the Peace Conference makes a mockery of the intentions of this conference, and we therefore appeal to the conference organizers, the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee either to postpone the proceedings until His Holiness has been issued with travel documents to South Africa and is able to attend, or to cancel the conference outright.

5. We further appeal to the above addressees and all concerned parties to protest this action and take whatever effective steps are in their power to ensure His Holiness is allowed to attend the conference.

6. We note the duplicity in the manoeuvre to ‘postpone’ His Holiness’ visit and will not regard a late issue of travel documents to His Holiness, such as will prevent his attendance at the conference, as a rectification of the matter.

7. Furthermore, we take the position that any refusal of travel documents to His Holiness by the South African government is in direct contravention to our constitutional right to freedom of religion, as His Holiness is the de facto leader of most Buddhist practioners worldwide.

8. We express our distaste at this response to His Holiness by our government (despite assurances from government structures including the Office of the President that there is no problem with granting the visa) whose own history of struggle against oppression is so strongly mirrored in the situation of the suffering Tibetan people today.

9. We observe that this distaste is felt by over 25 million citizens, the majority of South Africans, who have lodged statements* expressing solidarity in writing through their Faith and NGO organizations with His Holiness Dalai Lama, the Tibetan people and the ‘Middle-Way’ Approach.

10. We call for the true spirit of Ubuntu to prevail in the run up to elections and as South Africa begins to take global centre-stage in the build up to 2010. Ubuntu is the key to the Peace Conference, as conference themes will focus on anti-racism and xenophobia, and whether soccer can be used as a political tool to generate peace and harmony in Africa. In the words of the Icon of Peace His Holiness Dalai Lama: “Ubuntu is a rich and wonderful concept. Respecting nature, accepting ourselves as part of nature, ubuntu therefore is very relevant to modern society.”

11. Finally, we call on the South African government to give reasons for this action, especially reassuring us that the refusal of travel documents to H.H. Dalai Lama has in no way been dictated by its relations with the government of the People’s Republic of China.

We are sorry to inform you His Holiness will not be able to attend the South African Peace Conference scheduled for 27th March because the SA High Commissioner in New Delhi has asked for postponement of His Holiness visit to the country.

Below is the content of His Holiness' letter of 16th March addressed to the three SA Nobel Laureates:

" I was looking forward to meeting Your Excellencies during the forthcoming Peace conference in Johannesburg later this month and share some thoughts on issues of mutual interest and concern."

It is with a deep sense of anxiety that we note recent developments around the admission of the Dalai Lama to South Africa. Of particular concern is that this icon of the peace be denied access to the Peace Conference scheduled for 27 March 2009 in South Africa. Apart from agreeing with the recommendations by the South African Friends of Tibet Committee concerning the postponement or cancellation of the conference, we would also want to note the public slight of the invitation of our three Nobel Peace Laureates with dismay.

The confrontation of our human rights with regard to the freedom of religion is alarming. If no compromise is found in this regard all religious bodies would need to prepare themselves for a time of public alienation as they find themselves at odds with the ideologies of the State. It is critical to note that the Dalai Lama has never indicated any animosity towards our present government and has never indicated anything that could be interpreted as contrary to the essence of an emerging new South Africa.

It is concerning that there are allegations relating to a deepening relationship with mainland China and the present ruling party of South Africa and that this alliance could be the main reason for the rejection of the Dalai Lama’s application at this stage. If our economic and political relationships are exerting such prohibitive influence on our freedom of expression, the public must be alerted to the impact of this new relationship with China and the ramifications of a new form of economic colonialism.

There is an eerie calm in Vredehoek as some residents begin to return home after a night of drama. A fire that started near Rhodes Memorial at about 8pm on Tuesday night spread quickly as it was fanned by strong winds. By 01:00 the streets of Vredehoek were jammed with people packing their possessions into their cars, ready for a speedy getaway. With the sky glowing red, many onlookers were taking photographs, while trying to cover their eyes and mouths from the suffocating smoke. Other residents stood, watching in horror as the flames edged ever closer to peoples' homes. Fire engines had to fight through fleeing cars to get near the flames, as police vehicles drove up and down streets calling for people to evacuate their homes.As the police cordoned off streets, groups of people huddled together, watching the chaos and wondering what to do next. There was panic in Chelmsford Road as residents fled on foot and in their cars, while above their heads the flames licked the area around the base of The Towers. The fire in Vredehoek seems under control, with firefighters dousing stumps and glowing embers to prevent any flames from starting up again. The air is thick with uncertainty and smoke as some residents return home, while the fire can still be seen on the slopes of Devil's Peak and Table Mountain.

Cape Town - A fire was raging out of control on the slopes of Table Mountain on Wednesday morning and residents in High Cape and University Estate have had to flee their homes The fire broke out at about 20:30 just below the Rhodes memorial and it was initially feared it might spread to the upper campus of the University of Cape Town. However, no evacuations were needed at Ikeys. "There is an area of bush and grass on Table Mountain behind the University of Cape Town and near Vredehoek where the fire began," fire commander Ignatius Smart told Sapa. "It has spread to surrounding areas and is not under control as yet. "Three fire-fighters have been injured after falling on the mountain slopes," he said. Smart added that about 135 firefighters, disaster management officials and police were battling the blze. The fire was being fanned by strong winds, said fire and rescue's Deon Smit. De Waal Drive was closed for traffic at 00:15. Loudhailers were used to order residents of High Cape to evacuate as flames licked at the buildings. Long queues of cars formed as residents tried to escape the inferno. Helena Kolbe of University Estate said residents living six blocks above De Waal Drive were told to get out. Simon Hanson and a security guard had walked door-to-door to tell the residents to leave.

Its fire season and it seems a fire has broken out on Table Mountain, according to the fire department the fire is currently out of control with very high winds. Helicopters can only be sent up at first light. Its really bad. High Cape has been evacuated. Cape Talk is reporting that the fire seems to be heading over the mountain to Hout Bay though this is not confirmed. By any event this seems to be the real deal so be careful and evacuate if you are told to. So far all is OK in Camps Bay. Will keep you posted.

Apparently she has been moved to New York enabling her family to say goodbye before life support is switched off. If this story is true it is tragic. Our thoughts go out to Liam Neeson and her family. She apparently fell during a ski lesson in Canada hitting her head.

As we suspected the Michael Jackson Concerts sold out within minutes of being on sale. The first 10 Concerts sold over 350 000 tickets. By late yesterday the number of concerts had been increased to 30 and are already sold out which is a record for a performer at the O2 Dome. Randy Phillips from AEG Live said Jackson would earn R700, 000 000 from the concerts. There is speculation that Jackson may add on concerts to get to 50 his current age. Jackson has mystified his critics with millions pre registering to buy tickets. By all accounts judging by the number of people who have pre registed to purchase tickets he could easily sell out 100 concerts. That would mean by doing just one venue Jackson could pay off all his depts and still have a healthy bank account. Apparently Jackson has returned to the US for rehearsals for the shows which are predicted to be spectacular. Don't get me wrong as I'm sure there are going to be cancellations due to fatigue but you have to give it to the man this is some comeback. Just to put it in perspective Michael Jackson's website was getting 16, 000 hits a second at the height of the frenzy. Lets not forget the cash he will get for the live concert DVD, TV Special, Behind the Scenes Docci, Live Radio Broadcast, Internet and who knows maybe a 3D Special Movie? Lets not forget the new and live album. Thank God Michael Jackson is now being advised by some pretty clever guys. The only thing we now have to worry about is if MJ can keep it together for that long...

We had a very VIP guest for dinner tonight at The Eagles Nest and decided to have a chicken braai. Thank God for Woolies. As you can see we had terrible weather and the worst view ever. Fuck but it is shit to live in Camps Bay!!!!

Matt Damon and his brother impressively completed what has become to be called the Toughest Argus Cycle Tour Ever.

“IT WAS fabulous! Of course I would do it again! ” yelled Oscar-winning actor Matt Damon as he climbed off his bike after cycling a gruelling 110km in yesterday’s Cape Argus Tour. Damon, in Cape Town to film The Human Factor, about the 1995 Rugby World Cup, under the direction of Clint Eastwood, was joined by his younger brother, Kyle, on a tandem. “We’ve never been on a tandem before,” Matt said, adding that he was concerned about the wind. Nerine Pienaar, with her sons, watched her rugby-hero husband, Francois, set off. Damon is playing Pienaar in the film. Morgan Freeman plays former president Nelson Mandela. Asked if her husband would give Matt cycling advice during the race, she said he probably wouldn’t need it because Kyle was an experienced contestant in the Ironman endurance competition. Matt performed valiantly considering he suffered a sprained ankle on Thursday in a rugby practice session coached by former Springbok Chester Williams. This year’s race was billed as the most challenging in the event’s 32-year history because of the gale-force winds of up to 140km/h. The Damon brothers, who arrived at the finish shortly before the seven-hour cut-off time, were whisked away in a golf cart seconds after climbing off their bike to applause and loud whistling by the crowd. “We had to call a mechanic, our bike was stuck in one gear,” a sweaty Matt said. The star of the Bourne films cycled to raise funds for the charity Make A Difference. Severe winds at the start of the race caused havoc with riders and spectators, whose hats and sunglasses went flying. People, portable toilets and sound equipment were blown over. Of the 35000 cyclists registered to race, only 26000 started. “This is 6000 to 7000 fewer than usual and it is due to the wind,” said David Bellairs, co-director of the Cape Town Cycle Trust. “It’s been the most difficult event in 20 years,” Bellairs said. The winner of the men’s race was Arran Brown, of Team Medscheme, in 2hr 46min. He was followed by Barloworld’s Robbie Hunter. More than 1000 riders clad in Nedbank green were led by the banking group’s chief executive, Tom Boardman. “Are you COPING?” read the T-shirts of 120 cyclists riding in the colours of the newly formed political party, Congress of the People. Though e.tv’s weatherman, Derek van Dam, said that not even he had predicted such strong winds, riders kept their spirits up in weird and wonderful superhero costumes — and even a leopard suit. The Chapman’s Peak Drive and Suikerbossie sections of the tour were closed at 4.30pm, ahead of schedule, as the wind worsened.
